Set Team/Group Folder permissions

This function is only available for the Advanced plan.
For the Standard plan, you can use this function by applying for and using the Drive option.

The Folder Master has permission to edit all individual folders. Each member who can access individual folders can set permission to edit.

Members will see a folder icon as shown below according to the permissions granted to each folder.

  • : Folders without permission to access (only displayed on PC web)
  • : Folders with permission to edit
  • : Folders with permission to read

Reading and editing are all restricted for the folders you do not have access permission.

Set permissions

Set the members and their permissions to access a folder.

The 'Send location to this message room' function cannot be used in the folder where the member's permission is set, and the 'File upload notification' will not be sent.

You cannot set a member's permission on an external group folder.

Mobile

  1. Tap on the right of the folder to set permission.
  2. Tap ‘Set permission’.
  3. Turn on 'Accessible only by some members'.
  4. Add members to share. You can only add members with access to the folder.
  5. Tap 'OK' to set permissions.

PC Web

  1. Click on the top.
  2. Right-click the folder to set permissions.
  3. Click ‘Permission to edit’.
  4. Under 'Share with', select 'Selected folder members only'.
  5. Add members to share. You can only add members with access to the folder.
  6. Click ‘OK’.

Editing and reading permissions of members

When a member is added, the ‘Editing permission’ is granted automatically.

If permissions need to be changed to reading only, change the setting in ‘Manage Permissions’.

Members with reading permission can download, copy, and send, but are not allowed to edit.

Mobile

  1. Tap on the right of the folder to edit permission.
  2. Tap ‘Manage Permission’.
  3. Tap on the right of the member to edit the permission.
  4. Tap 'Can edit' or 'Can read only'.
  5. Tap 'Confirm'.

PC Web

  1. Click on the top.
  2. Right-click on the folder whose permissions you want to edit.
  3. Click ‘Manage permission’.
  4. Edit by clicking 'Can edit' or 'Can read only' to the right of the member whose permission to edit you want to edit.
  5. Click ‘OK’.

Delete a member (folder access restriction)

If a member does not need access to a certain folder anymore, use ‘Delete member’ to restrict the member’s access to the folder.

A member deleted from the member list cannot see the folder on the folder list or will have displayed for the folder with permission taken away. Also, the member cannot see the files inside.

Mobile

  1. Tap on the right of the folder to edit permission.
  2. Tap ‘Manage Permission’.
  3. Tap on the right of the member to restrict folder access.
  4. Tap ‘Delete member’.
  5. Tap ‘Confirm’.

PC Web

  1. Click on the top.
  2. Right-click the folder to edit permission.
  3. Click ‘Manage permission’.
  4. To the right of the member to restrict access to the folder, click .
  5. Click ‘OK’.

Disable permission setting

Disable the permission setting of the folder to allow all members to use the folder.

Mobile

  1. Tap right to the folder to disable permissions.
  2. Tap ‘Manage Permission’.
  3. Turn off 'Accessible by some members only'.
  4. Tap 'OK' to turn off permission settings.

PC Web

  1. Click on the top.
  2. Right-click the folder to remove the permission setting.
  3. Click ‘Manage permission’.
  4. Under 'Share with', select 'All folder members'.
  5. Click ‘OK’.
