File/Folder activities

CONTENTS

You can check changes made to files and folders in Drive and the members who made the changes.
You can view the following changes made by other members in Activity:

  • Uploaded or edited the file/folder
  • Moved the file/folder
  • Renamed the file/folder
  • Locked or unlocked the file/folder
  • Deleted or restored the file/folder from Trash
  • Shared or unshared the file/folder

View activities of file/folder

You can view activities of specific files and all files and subfolders located within a specific folder.

PC Web

  1. Click  on the top.
  2. Click the file or folder to view the activities.
  3. Click  on the top right.
  4. Click ‘Activity’.

Open document viewer or move to folder from Activity

You can open a document viewer or move to the folder from Activity.
This is only available in Activity of a folder.

  • MS Office files (.doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .xls, .xlsx)
  • PDF file (.pdf)

Open document viewer from Activity

You can open a viewer for document files only.

You can view files in the following formats:

  • MS Office files (.doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx)
  • Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)

PC Web

  1. Click  on the top.
  2. Click the folder to view the activities.
  3. Click  on the top right.
  4. Click ‘Activity’.
  5. Click the file name in the activity history to open the file viewer.

Move to folder from Activity

PC Web

  1. Click  on the top.
  2. Click the folder to view the activities.
  3. Click  on the top right.
  4. Click ‘Activity’.
  5. Click a folder in the activity history.
    You can also hover the mouse over a file, and click  to move to the folder.

Please note

Only activities in the past six months are displayed.
All members who have access to the file or folder can view the same activity history.
