Block or unblock messages from external contacts

You can block or unblock messages from LINE users or LINE WORKS users from other companies.

Block external contacts

If you block LINE users or LINE WORKS users from other companies, you will no longer receive their messages, nor be able to send messages to them.

The user you blocked will not be notified and can still send messages to you.

You can find the contact information of the blocked users in ‘Blocked Members’ of the PC app or web settings.

Block external contacts

For the people that you did not add in Contacts, the ‘Block’ menu is available in the message room.

Mobile

  1. Open the message room with LINE users or LINE WORKS users from other companies, and tap .
  2. Tap ‘Block’ to block the user.

PC Web

On the PC web, there are two ways to block users.

Block users in the message room

  1. Click  on the top.
  2. Click the 1:1 message room with a LINE or LINE WORKS user from other companies on the message room list.
  3. You will see a message on top saying, ‘This member has not been added as message contact’. Click ‘Block’.

Block users on profile

  1. In the group message room with LINE or LINE WORKS users from other companies, click the profile photo of the user whom you have not added to your Contacts.
  2. Click ‘Block’ in their profile.

PC App

  1. Click  on the top left of the screen.
  2. Click the message room with LINE users or LINE WORKS user from other companies on the message room list.
  3. Click  at the top right of the message room.
  4. Click ‘Block’ to block the user.

Unblock external contacts

You can unblock a user in the message room with that user, or the list of blocked members on the PC app or web. When you unblock the user, you will be able to receive their messages again from that point.

Mobile

  1. Open the message room with LINE or LINE WORKS users from other companies, and tap .
  2. Tap ‘Unblock’.

PC Web

On the PC web, there are two ways to unblock users.

Unblock users in the message room

  1. Click the 1:1 message room with a LINE or LINE WORKS user from other companies on the message room list.
  2. Click  at the top right of the message room.
  3. Click ‘Unblock’.

Unblock users in profile

  1. In the group message room with LINE or LINE WORKS users from other companies, click a profile photo.
  2. Click ‘Unblock’ in their profile.
    You can also unblock users in ‘Settings > Blocked Member’.

PC App

  1. Click  on the top left of the screen.
  2. Click the message room with a LINE user or LINE WORKS user from other company on the message room list.
  3. Click  at the top right of the message room.
  4. Click ‘Unblock’ to unblock the user.

Find or delete blocked external contacts

Find blocked contacts

You can find the contact information of the blocked users in ‘Blocked Member’.

You can find them in ‘Blocked Member‘ in the settings.

Delete blocked contacts

You can delete blocked users in ‘Blocked Member‘ in the settings.

Delete external contacts

You can delete users from other companies in the external contacts of Contacts.
