This function is only available for the Standard and Advanced plans.

Set company-wide policies for the safe use of the LINE WORKS mobile app.

  1. Select 'Security' from the left to expand the menu and press 'Mobile Security' to access the page. On mobile, tap the button to access the menus. 
  2. You can change the settings by pressing  on the right for each field.
  3. At the top right, press 'Save' to apply changes.

Lock screen

Set to lock screen when members launch the LINE WORKS mobile app.

Detailed setting Option
Require screen lock If the administrator sets the feature to 'Required', the screen lock function is applied to all members. If set to 'Select', members can decide whether to set the screen lock or not.

'If you change the setting to 'Required', members must register the PIN when they launch the mobile app next time.

  • Required - All members must set the screen lock
  • Optional - Members can decide whether to set Screen lock
PIN format Administrators can make members set the PIN in the format that the administrator selected.

If the PIN format is changed, you will need to register a new PIN when you launch the mobile app next time.

  • 4-Digit number
  • 6~10 alphanumeric
  • 8~10 alphanumeric
Unlock attempts You can set the maximum number of attempts to access the mobile app with the wrong PIN without being signed out. The setting changes will apply from the next unlock.

  • Logout of Mobile app after 3 to 10 login failures

Feature limitation

Login duration

After members sign in to the mobile app, set whether to automatically sign out members when they have not used the app for a while.

Changes will apply from the members' next sign in attempts.

Data storage period

Set how long the members are allowed to store and view data in the mobile app.

Option  Description
Do not restrict You can search for data from the entire period.
View data from only within the last 3/7/30 days
  • Message: You can search only the conversation history within the set period. The message search results only include conversations within the set period.
  • Note: Only posts within the set period can be viewed and left in the Note.
  • Board: Only posts within the set period can be viewed and left in the Board.
  • Calendar : Only events and tasks of an individual and others can be viewed in the Calendar.
  • Downloaded files: Only files downloaded within the set period remain on the member's device.

Limit image/text copy

You can change settings to disable members from copying the images/texts in the mobile app to the clipboard.

Detailed setting Option
Do not restrict You can copy image/text to the clipboard from the mobile app.
Restrict You cannot copy image/text to the clipboard on the mobile app.

However, copying image/text is not restricted in entry fields for services such as Mail and Board within the mobile app or OS default viewers.

For the function that restricts file uploads in the mobile app, refer to 'Security > File Security'.

Mobile Device Management (MDM)

To prepare for the loss or theft of a member's device with the LINE WORKS installed, the administrator can remotely delete the data of the LINE WORKS mobile app installed on the member's device or reset to the factory settings.

To use the mobile device management function, the administrator must turn on the LINE WORKS MDM, and then have each member activate MDM on their device.

The administrator or the member can remotely delete the data in the LINE WORKS mobile app or reset the device only on when mobile device management is activated.

Option Description
Use Members can activate the mobile device management function only when it is set to 'Use'.

  • Required - All members must register remote device manager: You can use LINE WORKS only when the mobile device management function is activated on the members’ device.
    Therefore, you can remotely delete data from the LINE WORKS mobile app installed on the devices of all members using LINE WORKS or reset the device to factory settings.
  • Optional - Registered freely depending on members’ choice: Members can use LINE WORKS even if they do not activate the mobile device management function. However, only when the member has activated the mobile device management function that data can be deleted or reset to factory settings.
Do not use Members cannot activate the mobile device management function on the device.

Use the 'Manage exceptions' to apply settings different from the company-wide policy for specific members.
