Share a folder

This function is only available for the Advanced plan.
For the Standard plan, you can use this function by applying for and using the Drive option.

You can share a specific folder in My Drive with other members or enable co-editing.

Share a folder

You can invite members to a specific folder. The invited members can access the folder contents, create and edit files. You can select permission to read or edit folders for each member.

Mobile

  1. Tap  of the folder you want to share.
  2. Tap 'Share'.
  3. Tap 'Share folder'.
  4. Select the members you want to invite, and tap 'Confirm' to share the folder.

PC Web

  1. Click  on the top.
  2. Hover your mouse over the shared folder.
  3. Right-click or click  .
  4. Click 'Share Folder'.
  5. Enter the names or email addresses of members, departments, or groups to add to 'Share with', or click 'Contacts' to select the invitees.
  6. Click 'OK' to share the folder.

Add members to a shared folder

After sharing a folder, you can always add new members to the folder.

Mobile

  1. Tap  in the shared folder to check the members.
  2. Tap .
  3. Select the members to invite, and tap 'Confirm' to add the members.

PC Web

  1. Click  on the top.
  2. Hover the mouse over the shared folder.
  3. Right-click or click  .
  4. Click 'Manage Shared Folder'.
  5. Enter the names or email addresses of members, departments, or groups to add to 'Share with', or click 'Contacts' to select the invitees.
  6. Click 'OK' to share the folder.

Check the members of shared folder

You can check the list of members in the shared folder and select the permission to read or write for each member.

  1. Tap  in the shared folder to check the members.

PC Web

  1. Click  on the top.
  2. Hover the mouse over the shared folder.
  3. Click .
  4. Click 'Manage Shared Folder' to check the members.
  5. Check 'Share with'.

  1. Tap  of the shared folder.
  2. Tap 'Share'.
  3. Tap the 'Manage sharing folder' to check the members in which the folder was shared.

PC Web

  1. Click  on the top.
  2. Click a shared folder, and click  on the top right.
  3. Click 'member' in Details to check the members.

Select permission for each member

You can select permission to edit or read the shared folder for each member.

The default is set to 'Editable'.

Mobile

  1. Tap  in the shared folder.
    You can also tap  of the shared folder in the list to tap 'Share' and then 'Manage sharing folder'.
  2. Tap  next to the member you want to change the permission given.
  3. Select the permission.
    • Editable: Permission to upload, download, edit, and delete files/folders.
    • Read only: Permission to only download files.

PC Web

  1. Click  on the top.
  2. Click  on the top right in the shared folder.
  3. Click 'member' in Details to check the members.
  4. Click 'Manage member' to open a management window.
  5. Click 'Edit' of the member to change permission.
  6. Click 'OK'.

Delete members from a shared folder

You can delete members from shared folders.

Mobile

  1. Open a shared folder, and tap .
    To delete a member, you can also tap  of the folder from the shared folder list. Tap 'Share' and then 'Manage sharing folder'.
  2. Tap  next to the member you want to delete.
  3. Tap 'Delete from shared members' to delete the member from the shared folder.

PC Web

  1. Click  on the top.
  2. Hover the mouse over the shared folder.
  3. Click .
  4. Click 'Manage Shared Folder' to open a window for inviting and managing members.
  5. Click 'x' next to the member you want to delete.
  6. Click 'OK'.

Unshare a folder

You can unshare a folder.

Mobile

  1. Tap  of the shared folder.
  2. Tap 'Share'.
  3. Tap 'Manage sharing folder'.
  4. Tap 'Unshare' to unshare the folder.

PC Web

  1. Click  on the top.
  2. Hover the mouse over the shared folder.
  3. Click .
  4. Click 'Manage Shared Folder' to open a window for inviting and managing members.
  5. Click 'Cancel share'.
  6. Click 'OK'.

Rename a shared folder

Members who shared the folder can rename the shared folder by clicking 'Rename'. The folder name displayed to members who received the shared folder will also change.
