Manage Group Masters and members

A Group Master can manage the Group Masters and group members.

Add or delete a Group Master

A Group Master can add new Group Masters or delete existing Group Masters. The person who created the group becomes the Group Master by default and can manage the group.

A Group Master can choose whether to use Message, Note, Event, Folder, mailing lists, and add or delete members. A Group Master can add new Group Masters or delete group members in the Edit group page.

However, for external groups, only members who have external connection authority can be designated as Group Masters.

Add a Group Master

Mobile

  1. Tap  in the Group Message Room.
  2. Tap .
  3. In ‘Manage Group’, tap ‘Group member’.
  4. Tapright to the name of the group member you want to add as a Group Master.
  5. Tap ‘Add as Group Master’.
  6. Go back to ‘Manage Group’, and tap ‘Save’.

If you want to add a person who is not a group member as a Group Master,
go to the ‘Group Master’ tab, and tap .

PC Web

  1. Click  on the top.
  2. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  3. Click  at the top right of the message room.
  4. Click ‘Edit group’.
  5. On the ‘Edit group’ window, click ‘Contacts’ on the right side of the ‘Group master’ field.
  6. Select a member that you want to add as a Group Master.
  7. Click ‘OK’.
  8. Click ‘Save’ to add the selected person as a Group Master.

PC App

  1. Click  at the top left of the screen.
  2. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  3. Clickat the top right of the message room.
  4. Click ‘Edit group’.
  5. On the ‘Edit group’ window, click ‘Contacts’ on the right side of the ‘Group master’ field.
  6. Select a group member that you want to add as a Group Master.
  7. Click ‘OK’.
  8. Click ‘Save’ to add the selected person as a Group Master.

Delete a Group Master

Mobile

  1. Tap  in the Group Message Room.
  2. Tap .
  3. In ‘Manage Group’, tap ‘Group member’ or ‘Group Master’.
  4. Tapof the Group Master you want to delete.
  5. Tap ‘Delete from Group Master’.

PC Web

  1. Click  on the top.
  2. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  3. Click  at the top right of the message room.
  4. Click ‘Edit group’.
  5. On the ‘Edit group’ window, click  on the right side of the Group Master you want to delete from the ‘Group master’ field.
  6. Click ‘Save’ to delete the Group Master.

PC App

  1. Click  at the top left of the screen.
  2. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  3. Clickat the top right of the message room.
  4. Click ‘Edit group’.
  5. Go to ‘Edit group’ and click  on the right side of the Group Master you want to delete in ‘Group master’.
  6. Click ‘Save’ to delete the group master.
If you are a Group Master, you can also delete yourself from ‘Group Master’. However, if the group has only one Group Master, you cannot delete the Group Master. A group needs at least one Group Master.

Add or delete a group member

A Group Master can add or delete group members. If you delete a group member, the deleted group member can no longer use the Group Message Room.

However, for external groups, only members who have external connection authority can be designated as Group Masters.

Mobile

  1. Tap  in the Group Message Room.
  2. Tap .
  3. Tap ‘Group member’.
  4. To add a new group member, tap  Group member’ or ‘Group Master’ and add the person you want to invite to the group.
  5. To delete an existing group member, tapfrom the group member you want to delete, and then tap ‘Delete from Group member’.
  6. Go back to ‘Manage Group’, and tap ‘Save’.
    You can also tap ‘Invite’ from  in the Group Message Room, and then tap ‘Add from contacts’ to easily invite a new group member.

PC Web

  1. Click  on the top.
  2. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  3. Click  at the top right of the message room.
  4. Click ‘Edit group’.
  5. Go to ‘Edit group’ and click ‘Contacts’ on the right of ‘Group master’ field.
  6. Select the members to add as group members.
  7. Click ‘OK’.
  8. Click ‘Save’ to add new group members.

PC App

  1. Click  on the top left of the screen.
  2. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  3. Clickat the top right.
  4. Click ‘Edit group’.
  5. Go to ‘Edit group’ and click ‘Contacts’ on the right of ‘Group master’ field.
  6. Select the members to add as group members.
  7. Click ‘OK’.
  8. Click ‘Save’ to add new group members.

Even after a group member is deleted, messages, events, posts, and files shared by the deleted member remain in the Group Message Room.

Invite a member to an external group

If you have the admin authority of an external group, you can invite members from other companies. If you invite LINE WORKS users from other companies, they can sign up using their existing accounts. However, if you invite people who do not use LINE WORKS, they can join the external group after creating their account.

Invite a member to an external group in Message

Mobile

  1. Open the External Group Message Room to invite a new member.
  2. Tap .
  3. Tap ‘Invite’.
  4. Tap ‘Share invitation link’.
  5. Select how to invite the user and share the group invitation link.

PC Web

  1. Click  on the top.
  2. Click the External Group Message Room to invite a new member from the message room list on the left.
  3. Click  at the top right.
  4. Click ‘Share invitation link’.
  5. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite, and click ‘Send invitation Mail’.

Invite a member to an external group in Manage Group

After creating a group, you can invite a member to an external group in Manage Group.

Mobile

  1. Tap ‘More’ on the bottom right.
  2. Tap ‘Contacts’.
  3. Tap .
  4. Tap ‘Group’.
  5. Select a group you want to invite a new member to.
  6. Tap  at the top right.
  7. Copy the invitation link by tapping the link indicated in blue at the bottom of the invitation link menu.
  8. Send the link to the person you want to invite.

PC Web

  1. Click  on the top.
  2. Click ‘Group’ on the left menu.
  3. Select a group you want to invite a new member.
  4. Click  at the top right.
  5. Click ‘Invite’ on the right side of the invitation link menu.
  6. In the group invitation window, enter the email address of the person you want to invite, and click ‘Send invitation Mail’.
